There is no official release date as of yet. We are still working on the game and would like to make sure the end product is nicely polished and meets the expectations, before it gets released to the public.

Reference link allows you to invite friends to pre-sign for our game. Both the creator of the reference link and person registering with it, will receive certain bonuses after the official launch. We cannot give up the exact details as of yet, however the bonuses will most likely include in-game resources.

Our priority is to release the game on iOS & Android devices in the first place but we do consider web version too.

Yes, although we are not sure if this will be possible from day one. 

We are planning to have 2 types of messaging systems; private messaging and club chat. We are not expecting to implement any more messaging systems – we have Discord for that reason.

We are considering this, but it would most likely not be available in the first release. It is one of the most important superficial features we would like to implement into the game at some point. 

There will be no captains in the game, however owners will have the ability to choose a set piece taker (possibly a few) for free kicks, penalties and corner kicks. 

Match simulation will be commentary-based along with a static view of the pitch. 

At the beginning there will only be one global server, but in the future, we may add more regions/servers to the game set in different time zones.

We will definitely introduce monthly subscriptions and a few other ‘extras’ which will be available to purchase directly from the shop. Our goal is to ensure the game stays free2play and is not significantly pay2win, we will do our best to keep it that way. 

Each player will have following resources: cash, fatigue & premium currency. Cash and premium currency are considered to be ‘spendable’ resources whilst fatigue is not.

Yes, club owners will be able to sell/buy players, as long as their club has sufficient amount of money to do so. 

Yes, we have. However, everything depends on the amount of resources and options/possibilites to port the game from mobile to desktop. Although, it is worth mentioning the game will only be available on mobiles devices on the day of release. 


# **Hi, ballers!**

We are aware that it's been a while since the last announcement but don't worry, contrary to some people might think, we **haven't** forgotten about you or the project. The objectives for this year haven't changed, we would like to **release** an alpha version of the game first, then beta, and do our best to launch the official fballers product. This article is to **inform** you of what we have been working on in January and February and maintain the regular communication with yourselves.

## Re-designing menu

Those who are actively chatting with us on [Discord](https://discord.gg/NDg5jdTwZ3) are already aware of the **mistake** we did with the initial design of our navigation bar, but to those who aren't and haven't seen the **leaks**.. Believe us or not, we spent quite some time with our lead graphic designer working on the nav bar, yet we forgot to include **resources** (i.e. cash, training time, fcoins) within the design. Quite embarrassing to admit, however mistakes happen to **everyone**, and they definitely will happen to us in the future.

As much as we hated the fact our **whole** menu had to be re-designed, we had no choice but to do it, and we **did it**. Both versions of the app (iOS and Android) have now been **re-written** with the new menu design and we are fairly **confident** we haven't forgotten about any aspects this time! The old and new designs have been shared via the **leaks** channel on [Discord](https://discord.gg/NDg5jdTwZ3), so if you're curious of the work we've completed, please join the **fballers** server and feel free to share your **feedback** with us.

## Icons

On top of the navigation bar work, we have also spent some time **looking** for and **working** with another graphic designer whose primary task was to create unique **icons** for our app. When we started working our lead UI/UX person, he advised us designing icons was never his forte and **recommended** to contact someone else regarding that part of the front-end. It took us a few weeks to find the **right** person for the job but we finally did it, we have been working together for some time now and almost all icons are now **finished** - we are hoping they will be a nice addition to the **sharp** looking user interface.

So what are the plans for **next** couple of weeks? We will carry on the development work, coding the UI design, expanding commentary system and internally testing the app. We have also discussed the **possibility** of adding a progress bar onto our website or Discord to provide even more transparency and better reflect the amount of work that has been **completed** to this date. # **Hello, ballers!**

Hope you have **enjoyed** the time off and spent the Christmas period with family and friends in a **great** atmosphere. We are getting closer to the end of the year, which means we are also getting closer to celebrating the New Year's Eve and that it's time to fill you in on the **progress** of our work and share some **numbers** with yourselves. Of course, as always we would like to wholeheartedly thank you for the **patience**, **feedback** and **faith** you have put in us so far. We promise, we are **not** going to disappoint you. This devlog will be split up into following parts: achievements, objectives, obstacles and statistics. Without further ado, let's get to it.

## Achievements

As foolish as it may sound, we genuinely believe we have achieved a few objectives this year and are on track to tick the other ones off in 2022. First of all, we have successfully launched our [website](https://fballers.com/), [Discord](https://discord.gg/NDg5jdTwZ3) and gathered quite a community. From end-users perspective these may not seem important or significant but making the little steps enabled us to collect vital feedback, further brainstorm our ideas and change some of the in-game systems to make them more exciting to you, and last but not least these mini-goals gave us the opportunity to build a relationship with the whole community. It is something we will always be highlighting because we make our projects for people, without you there would really be no point to push the development forward.

Further, we have managed to organise mini-events on Discord and our social media, which brought the community together for quite a while. Seeing you guys participate in the pick-em challenge and discus your picks, as well as, what was going on during the games was truly incredible. We have also completed a lot of technical objectives, although we are not where we thought we would be at this time, we still believe we have put a lof effort into the project and did our best with the tools and resources we've had. Here is a list of the most notable goals we have achieved to this day:

- The UI/UX work has been fully completed
- Coded a good number of the UI design
- Performed internal tests for every system/screen currently programmed
- Fully finished internal documentation used by developers
- Designed and tested the base structure of match engine
- Produced a solid foundation for the commentary system

## Objectives

Although comparably short to other parts of the devlog, this might be the most important one for some of you. It focuses on what we would like to accomplish in the upcoming year, so there will be some promises made and hopefully they will provide you something to look forward to in 2022. Below is the list of said goals:

- Alpha stage goes live; we gather any relevant feedback and if need to, we fix broken parts of the code that are affecting in-game systems or general functionality of the app
- We prepare and launch beta test; this phase is planned to be open to the public, so anyone will be able to download the app and sign up. It will allow us to monitor traffic, see how our servers perform, and yet again review all the systems and functionality within the app
- Official premiere of the fballers app; we aim to bring the experience of our football game to all devices running on: Android 9 and above, iOS 12 and above. We are trying our best to support older operating systems, however we cannot guarantee anything at this stage
- Planning first major update; this part will be based on the feedback gathered during alpha and beta tests, as well as any suggestions made on Discord throughout the next few months

## Obstacles

This section is nothing but a much needed explanation from our side as to why we haven't released beta or even alpha this year. We appreciate you may not want to listen to excuses and that's totally fine, but recommend you to not skip this paragraph nonetheless. If you were expecting for us to launch at least alpha this year and you feel somewhat disappointed - trust me, you are not the only one - we completely understand that, since we initially expected to be past the alpha stage or perhaps even in beta at this time of the year. However, creating a, hopefully, huge project would not be fun without any serious obstacles on the way, right?

The one thing that significantly slowed us the most were health issues of one of our staff members, which started around June/July and are unfortunately still on-going. There were times when we didn't even touch the app for a week or two because it was just physically impossible for us. Now, we are hoping that the most threatening issues are behind us, we can spend more time working on the app and remain on course. Although, we feel like this will help you to understand and justify why we don't want to disclose any dates (i.e. official launch), because with a team of our size, the moment one of us gets sick or encounters personal issues, the development comes to a stop.

## Statistics

We ought to share some numbers with you that will help us to reflect the progress we have made in 2021, the stats below are not only related to the development but also our fantastic community. As expected, we have made serious advancements in all areas of our project including the promotion of our Discord and social media, although we haven't started our marketing campaign yet. Here are the most vital numbers to this date:

- The number of UI screens within the app currently stands at 182
- Our developers have written over 70 000 lines of code
- Web traffic on our website came from over 10 different countries and we've had over 10 000 unique entries
- We have accumulated 250 likes on our social media pages and over 850 Discord members
- Over 350 users have been on Discord with us for over 6 months so most likely from the beginning, huge thank you for your loyalty and patience
- We have been getting close to 500 visitors and over 2,000 messages sent every month in our Discord

As you can see, the last few months we have been continuously working on the project were not for nothing. Please stay tuned and enjoy yourselves tonight.

# **Evening, ballers!**

First of all, thank you for your **patience** and **understanding**, we know we have mentioned this many times but we also realise that our [Discord](https://discord.gg/NDg5jdTwZ3) has not been extremely active in the last couple of months, to say the least. Although we haven't posted much, we would like to ensure you that we **carry on** working on the project and it is something we plan on releasing in a **good condition**. Of course, we cannot promise the end product will be flawless, as all game makers tend to fix bugs and issues, as well as, adjust in-game systems based on **feedback** gathered from users. We can assure you that we are and will be working on fballers, with **all of you**, to create something pleasant and hopefully huge!

## Preparation for testing stages

We promised in our last, and also the first, devlog that the next one will contain information regarding the onboarding process for testing stages, which will help us understand how many people would like to **participate** and what we can **expect** from them. For that reason, we have created a Google form, very **simple** questionnaire that will hopefully help us gain more understanding of certain technical aspects. We trust you will have no issues understanding the form and answering the questions, however we are happy to provide **support** in that area regardless, please feel free to message us on [Discord](https://discord.gg/NDg5jdTwZ3) or email at contact@fballers.com - we will try to explain everything to the best of our abilities.

Feedback from our community is **immensely** important for us and so are the questions we have put in the questionnaire along with the testing stages themselves. The more, better and quicker we test, the easier it's going to be to discover and fix **all** issues and proceed to the **official** release. Ideally, we would like to have a wide range of devices at our disposal - different brands, different versions of Android/iOS - to avoid any **major** disruptions after the official launch. It's impossible to predict every scenario and eliminate all risks, however we can definitely do a lot to **reduce** those risks and make the official launch as smooth as possible. ## Progress update

As we have already mentioned in our previous devlog; our aim is to deliver fairly **regular** updates regarding the progress of our work, it's **crucial** to keep you all up to date and that's what we will try to achieve with devlogs and leaks. To present the information in a clear way, we have decided to split everything into **three** sections, these are as follows: planning (first stage), implementation (second stage) and review/testing (third stage). For each of them, we will provide a percentage (%) to reflect the amount of work **completed** and a brief description of what we worked/are working on - we hope this, along with the **leaks**, will satisfy your needs in terms of knowing what is going on with the project, at least for the time being.

First stage; we can happily announce that in terms of planning **90%** of work has been completed; **most** of the major systems and their functionality are documented and have been agreed upon by the dev team. The **only** system we are still making changes to is the training module, we had plenty of ideas for it but keep thinking that there is still a **lot** of room for improvement and the whole module can be much more interesting and feel more **innovative**. Once we have agreed on the training system, we will then proceed to review **all** documents again to ensure they are clear, informative and meet our internal needs.

Second stage; this part, as you probably already know, is the **biggest** of them all and contains by far the **highest** number of components. What does it actually refer to? Pretty much everything in terms of the actual **development/coding**, including but not limited to: functionality of each system, amount of UI/UX design coded for each module, commentary system (number of lines it consists of), internal tests etc. As things stand, we believe **30%** of work has been completed in this area. There is plenty of work ahead of us but as we've said earlier on; we're not giving up and **systematically** making progress. Whilst 30% doesn't seem like a lot, it is worth mentioning this phase consumes a lot of time at the **beginning** but once the basic structured has been completed, it is then much easier to code and make progress.

Third stage; last but not least, hasn't actually started yet so effectively it's at **0%**, as we're only entering this phase now. The introductory element is the [Alpha Questionnaire](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1UMxjcF9QXK_d0NwhdOl2B8ruFani46Pgm9SzcsV4T6M/), collecting data is a **valuable part** of the process and can be of huge benefit for us. This is an aspect where we need **you**, our **community**, to progress further, as without you the alpha and beta tests are simply going to take **much** longer and delay the official launch. We are hoping that with your help, this bit will be much smoother and easier for us and we can assure you that your effort **will not** got unnoticed.

# **Afternoon, ballers!**

Welcome to the first ever **fballers devlog**. It will be a series of announcements posted on the website and informing of the progress we are constantly making. We believe that uploading regular devlogs on top of the ‘leaks’ occasionally shared on [Discord](https://discord.gg/NDg5jdTwZ3) will help you understand where we are with the project and also **make you feel** like you are in the loop because effectively you will be in the loop. In today’s devlog we will focus on what the devlogs are and how often they will be uploaded, current state of development and what you can expect to see next. Without further ado, let’s get to it!

## The devlogs, their nature and how often they will be uploaded

As mentioned earlier on, the devlogs will be a series of articles published on our website focused on the current state of the project. It is hard to envision how long each article will be, some of them may be fairly long, others rather short. The main goal of each devlog will be to provide as **accurate update** on our progress as possible and perhaps disclose some of the next steps. This series will run **simultaneously** with the leaks, we are not replacing nor getting rid off the ‘leaks’ channel from [Discord](https://discord.gg/NDg5jdTwZ3). The leaks will stay on there for those who are actively following our project, whilst devlogs will be published to the wider audience **biweekly**.

If you are not familiar with ‘leaks’ – it is a designated [Discord](https://discord.gg/NDg5jdTwZ3) channel where, from time to time, we publish **screenshots** of components you will get to see in the game. ## Update on the progress of our work

First of all, we would like to **thank everyone** for their contribution to the project, we are extremely satisfied of the progress we are making as **creators** and **community**. You are the reason we are making this game and we **love your** input so far, please keep it going and help us grow the **community**. The baby steps we are making now may not come across as vastly exciting, however they **need** to be ticked off before we get to the point where our work is more visible to you. We can assure you that we are **not** slowing down and are constantly pushing the development **forward**.

As of now, we can proudly announce that **98%** of the work on **User Interface (UI)** design has been completed and what is left to do is just minor changes/corrections which we will make as we go along. This could not have been achieved without our graphic designer who has done a **terrific** job when it came to designing the app based on the specs provided. It took us a while to find a perfect man for the job and it also took some convincing, but it was definitely worth it. **HUGE THANK YOU**, we know you are reading this!

You have already seen quite a bit of his work, but this is **not** everything, there is still **plenty** of content that we have not published yet, so stay tuned. We have also taken into consideration **security** aspects and decided to initiate implementation of the **Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)** to ensure all your accounts stay as protected as possible. We **care** for our users; we care for your security and privacy and we will do our best to make sure all those aspects are taken care of from our end.

## What’s coming next

The next devlog will concentrate on more **technical** aspects and essentially deliver an update on the progress of development from coding perspective. We will attempt to make each article **unique** in a way, so that you don’t get bored of them too quickly, hopefully tune in for a little bit longer than first few devlogs and give us some **feedback** along the way. We are also working on a simple onboarding process in preparation for the **testing stages**; we would like to collect as much data as possible before we start testing our game and for that we will need you! # **Evening, ballers!**

During the last AMA session hosted on our [Discord](https://discord.gg/NDg5jdTwZ3) server, we had showcased all abilities implemented in the game but also promised a new system consisting of more skills and a new method of training said abilities. Today, we would like to present the **revamped skills**, training system and supply a list of all skills. We are also hoping to hear your feedback and any suggestions you may have regarding the new system.

The new abilities will be divided into two categories; primary skills and secondary skills. The first set of abilities is considered to be the main group, while the secondary skills as the name suggests are responsible for boosting the primary abilities. In the new system, each player starts with **200 energy** and by default gets **5 energy points every hour** until the energy limit (200) is reached. The energy can be used to **train secondary skills and gain experience** which can then be used to level up primary abilities.

## Levelling up primary skills

In order to improve primary skills, players will have to **gain experience through various in-game activities**, such as: participating in matches, individual and team training sessions, club camps. We are considering adding more ways of earning experience but before we do that, we would like to test the system multiple times first. The experience gained through those activities will **allow players to level up and acquire skill points**, which can be then added to one of the primary skills. Once distributed, **the skill points cannot be reset, so remember to choose wisely**. Below is a list of all primary abilities, which will be available in the first version of the game.

1. Attacking primary skills:
   - finishing,
   - heading,
   - long shots
2. Playmaking primary skills:
   - passing,
   - crossing,
   - dribbling
3. Defending primary skills:
   - intercepting,
   - tackling,
   - marking
4. Goalkeeping primary skills:
   - handling,
   - one on ones,
   - reflex

## Training secondary skills

Levelling up has no effect on secondary skills, these can only be trained **through individual training, team training and club camp**. Similarly, to the last two, the new individual training gives players the option to choose intensity level, as of now there are following intensity levels implemented in the game: low intensity, medium intensity and high intensity. Lower intensity training sessions require less energy, but last much longer, meaning those who opt to do high intensity training will be able to develop more abilities in the same amount of time as those who choose low or medium intensity. This is incredibly important because **if an ability is not trained for certain amount of time** (72 hours in the current version), the skill points will start to regress, therefore it should be crucial for everyone to regularly work on all abilities. We are hoping this will keep the gap between the best and worst players fairly close in the future and enhance the uniqueness.
Initially, secondary abilities **will be capped at 25 skill points** to eliminate a scenario where a player is only focusing his attention on one ability and as a result gaining huge boost to one of the primary skills.

1. Attacking secondary skills:
   - intuition,
   - bravery,
   - precision,
   - off the ball
2. Playmaking secondary skills:
   - vision,
   - technique,
   - ball control,
   - first touch
3. Defending secondary skills:
   - positioning,
   - decisions,
   - aggression,
   - strength
4. Goalkeeping secondary skills:
   - determination,
   - anticipation,
   - eccentricity,
   - jumping reach

Altogether, there are 28 skills in the game, 12 primary abilities and 16 secondary skills – this should keep each one of you entertained throughout your journey with fballers. We are also truly hoping this system will be fair and competitive, as this was our main goal when we decided to sit down and redesign it. # **Greetings, footballers!**

Hope you’re all doing well. We know you’ve been waiting for some sort of clarification from our side and we thought now is the perfect time to do it. We also understand this page will be visited by users who haven’t heard about us, so we will try to shed as much light as possible on our project. Now, without further ado, let’s cut to the chase.

## What is going on here?

Some of you are not only familiar with the concept of our game but have also been occasionally teased by us. This part is mainly aimed at those who are new here. For the past few months, we have been working on a mobile game which can be placed in the ‘football manager’ category, although instead of controlling the whole team you will only be in charge of one footballer and that’ll be your in-game character. You will have the ability to create your own club or join an existing team, the first option means more responsibility but also more control, which is important because there’s plenty of things that can be done within the club, for example, improving the infrastructure which affects club finances. There are also elements of RPG built in the game like item upgrade system, which is extremely important for character development. The objective is to supply you with necessary tools and see what you can come up with, are you going to lead your club to the glory or are you going to focus on individual achievements? Whichever path you decide to choose, we will ensure to make it exciting and worth staying a while.

## Who are we?

We are a tiny but ambitious team whose goal is to develop and release a product attractive to a lot of users. We have known each other for a couple of years and discussed about creating a game together many times, however there was always something stopping us from doing it. Nonetheless, after months of productive discussions, we have finally managed to get together and started working on a project, which is now known as fballers (short for footballers). Between us, we have a couple of years of experience in project planning, development, and management. We have successfully delivered web and mobile projects (including games) in the past either as project managers or staff members, and now we’re hoping to do the same.

## What is our plan?

The main aim is to release a game focused on and around football, however at the same time make it interesting to those who are not necessarily football fans. It is certainly a huge challenge, but we believe it can be achieved with the right decisions, a little bit of effort and hard work. Further, we promised ourselves this game would be free 2 play (F2P) and also that we would not heavily rely on pay 2 win (P2W) aspects either. We are hoping to implement cosmetic and superficial features, as opposed to game producers who often offer in-game resources and quickly turn their games into P2W. This is another huge challenge that we have to face and overcome but we belong to the group of believers who think this can be done.

## When you can expect to see content from the game?

As it stands, we don’t have any official timeline or roadmap that we could share with you, however we do have content to publish. There is a lot of aspects that we’re still working on as well as constantly changing, and we feel like sharing unofficial and unfinished content wouldn’t be fair. But nothing to worry about, we are planning to release some screenshots and game content in the next few weeks, it’s just that we are unable to provide specific dates as of yet. All game content will be published on our Discord server and in the news section of our landing page. Stay tuned and you won’t be disappointed.

## Communication is key

We believe communication is key to everything, therefore we are open to any suggestions or discussions regarding our project. The more input and feedback we gather from you, the better the end product is going to be. After all, we are creating this game for you, so we would like to make sure you have your say during the development process. This is why we’ve decided to create a Discord server and share it with everyone, we’re hoping that improved transparency and open communication will be one of many reasons to convince you to stay with us for a long time. Just like football clubs wouldn’t exist without fans, games wouldn’t exist without gamers.

## Growing our community

As previously mentioned, community is very important to us, we’re looking forward to building a strong relationship with all users and turning our Discord into one huge family. To make sure everyone feels welcomed and included, we have created non-English channels for those who find it difficult to fluently communicate in English. Further, the most active non-English channels will get their own sections and sub-channels, so don’t be afraid to join our Discord server because we will do everything we can to make it feel like home. We’re happy to keep expanding the server, so if you have any ideas or perhaps you speak a language that doesn’t have its own section just let us know!

Moreover, in order to keep you in the loop, we plan to organise AMA (Ask Me Anything) sessions once every two weeks on our Discord. During the AMA sessions, you'll have opportunity to ask questions and discuss your concerns regarding the project. Specific times and dates will be provided at later stages via the news feed.
